Welcome to the Product Bakery
Full Transcript
Welcome to our very fair. All right, let's do it. Hi, Christian. No, I can't. I'm not ready yet. Come on. I know it's every first time is hard. Yes, you're right. So this is our first episode of the product bakery podcast. We need to share the story how we get there. Wait, it's the podcast podcast podcast. It's the podcast that gives you the right ingredients to build products. Oh, yeah. The right ingredient, know the ingredients to build the right products, the ingredients to build the right products. But you know what people who are listening right now, they have no idea what we're talking about. And that's good. Okay, so well, I'm Alex, I'm product designer. I'm Christian, and I'm a product manager. Perfect. All right. And we met last week, we had lunch. Pretty awesome burger. I mean, for everyone who's like in Berlin, go there. It's she's so it's like, Asian fusion vacuum style or whatever. But no, it's not about food. We, we had this discussion of product development, and how differently designers, product managers, engineers, marketers, and so on talk in their own words, like when they have their own conferences, podcasts, and so on. Exactly. And we were just thinking of bringing people together from all different departments and have interviews about all these different disciplines and how to combine them holistically, looking at the whole product development process. I mean, what's part of the product development process, right? Because I think we can summarize it in quite a few roles. Like you have product management, like yourself, product design, like me, but at the same time, development plays a big role. Even things like product marketing, and sales and everything. Yeah, like I would say really everything that is needed in a product organization. Exactly. And we have also a very big product development process and product development cycle. So you have the product discovery, you have the feature preparation, you have the whole development process. And then there are all these buzzwords like agile, like design thinking, lean principles, and so many people talking about it. And there are definitely very, very valuable information. And we are not reinventing the wheel. Our goal is to talk to people about it in a way that at the end of each episode, you have some key takeaways that you can apply in your day to day business. So Christian, because you're talking about the key takeaways, I have to admit something. I spent quite some time yesterday to find, you know, like, I was imagining already like the episode. So we talked to people. And then at the end, we have this debrief session. But like to introduce that, how can you have a debrief session without the right, you know, like, I'm not sure which like episode, but like this kind of American TV show, cheesy elevator music. Wait, I mean, let's just hint it so that people also know when it comes up the next time. Oh, yes. Yeah. And next to that, I spent so much time to think about what could be the perfect logo of our podcast. And since I have this roots of being a baker, should we spoil people that it will be something very, in a very nice retro style? Should I tell you that if people are listening to this first episode, they will already see the logo? But yeah, Christian, nice parlor. Okay. On the other hand, people should know how much time we spend on design. But hey, it fits exactly what we want, right? I mean, it's about simplicity. It's about digital and also easiness. Yeah. And don't forget the baking. Yeah. I mean, simplicity and easiness can be can be maybe somehow combined to simplicity, but yes. Yeah. Okay. There's definitely some room for improvement when it comes to the description. I mean, we can have a separate episode on our logo. I think we should have a separate episode on how to start a podcast as a product team. Yeah. Especially considering how crazy you went with Kanban boards and setting up a complete G-suit with multiple templates and everything. But look where we are. We have already a nice list of people we're going to interview in the next couple of weeks. And most important is that we're going to launch weekly episodes, talking to great people from different companies, as we mentioned, and making sure that we continuously deliver something to production. Yes, makes totally sense. So release date? Every first day? Thursday sounds good to me. Perfect. Then make sure to tune in for the next episode. And don't forget that we are always available online. So you can write us an email to hello at product-bakery.com. And now, because we have a nice selection of music, here comes our outro. Enjoy!
